Digital Self-Portrait
In my last couple of years in college I developed an overwhelming passion for screenprinting. But then I graduated, started my career, and didn’t pick up another squeegie until April of 2024. Above is my first screenprint in 42 years.

After I retired – and my wife Robin and I relocated to Oregon – I decided to take a community college class to refresh me on all that I’d forgotten, and to see if I still felt that passion. This was my first project in the class and I discovered that the process was just as amazing as I remembered. And, unlike everything else between then and now, very little about it had changed. In fact, I even still make mistakes! Like allowing my background color to turn into a blood-curdling red. I color-corrected here so that you could see my non-horror intent.

Digital Self-Portrait is about my transition from digital media back to using my actual digits to create art.
