The clock began ticking on April 20, 1999 with the killing of 12 students and a teacher at Columbine High School in Littleton CO. 25 years later the count has reached 493 people killed with guns on school property in the U.S. (per David Riedman, the creator of the K-12 School Shooting Database).

The drawings in this print do not represent actual victims of school shootings (although you'll notice that, like Columbine, 12 students and one teacher have been ‘shot’). This project felt very personal, which is why I included the above drawing based on my 2nd grade school picture.
